Description
The Breguet Marine collection pays tribute to Abraham-Louis Breguet’s appointment as Horologist to the French Royal Navy in 1815, when his marine chronometers helped ships keep time and position at sea. The Reference 5827BR/Z2/5ZU belongs to the second generation of the Marine Chronograph, blending that naval heritage with a sporty, contemporary character. Its 42mm case in 18k rose gold showcases the hallmarks of Breguet design: a finely fluted caseband, welded lugs and a screw-down crown, with water resistance to 100 meters. The black gold dial is hand-engine-turned with a wave guilloché motif evoking the open sea, set off by applied Roman numerals and the iconic Breguet hands. Powered by the self-winding Calibre 583Q/1, featuring a column-wheel flyback chronograph and date, the movement can be admired through a sapphire caseback, revealing Breguet’s renowned finishing. Paired with a black rubber strap, the Marine Chronograph is the perfect union of maritime history and modern luxury.
