Description
The Rolex Datejust has been the brand’s signature dress watch since 1945, when it became the first self-winding wristwatch to show the date through a window on the dial. Reference 1601 is among the most beloved vintage Datejusts, produced through the 1960s and 70s, and this example from 1975 brings genuine period character to the collection. The 36 mm Oyster case in stainless steel is topped with an engine-turned bezel and a domed acrylic crystal with the Cyclops date magnifier. Its salmon sunburst dial features applied silver baton markers and has developed a soft, natural patina with age. Inside beats the self-winding calibre 1570, a COSC-certified chronometer renowned for its reliability. The watch is fitted on a stainless steel Jubilee bracelet. It’s a characterful vintage Datejust with a rare and warm dial colour.
