Description
Introduced in 1945, the Rolex Datejust was the first self-winding waterproof chronometer wristwatch to display the date in a window on the dial, and it remains one of the most recognisable watches in the world. The Reference 126234 is crafted in White Rolesor, combining a 36mm Oystersteel case with a fluted bezel in 18k white gold, the Datejust’s signature detail. The intense black dial is set with ten brilliant-cut diamond hour markers in 18k white gold settings, with the date at 3 o’clock magnified by the iconic Cyclops lens. Powered by the self-winding Calibre 3235, featuring Rolex’s patented Chronergy escapement, a Parachrom hairspring and a 70-hour power reserve, the watch is certified as a Superlative Chronometer, guaranteeing a precision of −2/+2 seconds per day after casing. Water resistant to 100 meters, it is fitted with the five-piece link Jubilee bracelet, originally created for the Datejust in 1945, with a concealed Crownclasp. The Datejust 36 is a timeless classic, as elegant today as it was more than 75 years ago.
