Description
First introduced in 1926 as the world’s first waterproof wristwatch case, and paired in 1931 with Rolex’s self-winding Perpetual rotor, the Oyster Perpetual is the purest expression of Rolex’s founding ideas. The Reference 126000, launched in 2020, brought the 36mm model into a new generation, powered by Rolex’s in-house Calibre 3230, a self-winding movement with the Chronergy escapement, a blue Parachrom hairspring and a 70-hour power reserve. Its Oystersteel case is topped with a polished domed bezel and water resistant to 100 metres, while the soft pistachio lacquer dial, one of the more recent colour additions to the collection, is set with luminescent hour markers in white gold that glow blue in the dark. Mounted on the Oyster bracelet with the Oysterclasp and Easylink comfort extension, the 126000 pairs understated design with a fresh, contemporary colour that has made it a favourite among collectors.
Self-winding watch with hours, minutes and central seconds. 36mm Oystersteel case, polished domed bezel. Pistachio dial, Oyster bracelet.
A quick note on the photo: the minute hand is covering “OYSTER” and the seconds hand is covering “CHRONOMETER.” Set the hands to about 10:10 and stop the seconds hand away from the text (pull the crown out to hack it) so all the dial printing is readable.
