Unveiled in 2019, the Panerai Laminor Luna Rossa celebrates the partnership between Panerai and the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli sailing team, Italy’s challenger in the America’s Cup, the oldest trophy in international sport. Inspired by the team’s AC75 racing yacht, the 47mm case and unidirectional rotating bezel are crafted in Carbotech, Panerai’s carbon-fibre composite, lighter than titanium and highly resistant to corrosion, with a unique grain that makes every case one of a kind. The dark grey dial incorporates genuine sailcloth from the Luna Rossa sails, paired with luminescent hour markers, small seconds at 9 o’clock and a date window at 3. At its heart lies the in-house self-winding Calibre P.9010, with two barrels delivering a three-day power reserve, while the titanium caseback is engraved with the AC75 yacht and the silhouette of the America’s Cup. Protected by Panerai’s iconic crown-protecting bridge and water resistant to 300 meters, the Submersible Luna Rossa is a true instrument of the sea, where Italian design meets the cutting edge of competitive sailing.
