Description
Founded in 1980, Hublot made its name with the “Art of Fusion,” famously becoming the first brand to pair a precious-metal watch with a natural rubber strap, and its porthole-inspired case (hublot is French for porthole) remains one of the most recognisable designs in modern watchmaking. Reference 541.NX.1171.LR belongs to the Classic Fusion collection, launched in 2008 as the purest expression of that philosophy, here in its versatile 42 mm chronograph form. The case is crafted in lightweight satin-finished and polished titanium, topped with a titanium bezel secured by Hublot’s signature six H-shaped screws. The black matte dial carries applied indexes, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, small seconds at 9 o’clock and a date window at 6 o’clock. Inside beats the self-winding HUB1143 chronograph calibre, with a power reserve of approximately 42 hours, visible through the sapphire caseback. The watch is water-resistant to 50 metres and fitted on a black alligator leather strap lined with rubber, secured by a titanium deployant clasp. It’s a refined, understated chronograph that captures Hublot’s signature fusion of materials in its cleanest form.
